Originally in the 20th Century, the concept of Intelligence was measured by IQ test, as something you can not improve or change, from birth till death. This preconceived notion of intelligence was both crippling and destructive for young adults to pursue any career path. More recent studies have disproved this primitive belief. Depending on your work ethic you can change your intelligence for better or worst.

According to Harvard developmental psychologist, Howard Gardner there is not just one type of general intelligence (IQ) that we are familiar with, but 8 types of multiple intelligences that are very diverse and cover a wide area of intelligence. The more types of intelligence you pose, the more intelligent you are. Depending on your work ethic you can improve at them too.

“We are all able to know the earth through language, logical-mathematical analysis, spatial representation, musical thinking, the use of the body to unravel problems or to make things, an understanding of other individuals, and an understanding of ourselves. Where individuals differ is within the strength of these types of intelligence — Howard Gardner

Albert Einstein once wrote, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” A fish is smart, not because it’s a monkey bit because it’s a fish. So whenever you hear someone say what are you stupid? Just respond, “I’m a genius in my own way.”
